Dragons in Dungeons
Walking in two worlds but truly belonging to neither, Half-elves are commonly shunned by both Humans and Elves as they are seen as the carrying on the worst traits of the other side's ancestors. However, Half-elves see it differently – they have the best qualities of two great races: human curiosity, inventiveness, and ambition tempered by the refined senses, love of nature, and artistic tastes of the elves.
Half-elves tend to strive for achievement, likely stemming from feelings of inadequacy and a lack of place in the world. Whether living with Humans or Elves, Half-elves often develop diplomatic tendencies, finding common ground and defusing hostility.
Without dedicated lands of their own, Half-elves often become wanderers, adventurers, sailors, or trappers living off the land. They are welcome in the Human cities of Ostegard and (somewhat less) welcome on the Elven Isle of Splendid. Half-elves enjoy a freedom unlike many other races and utilize it despite the prejudice that sometimes accompanies it.
Ability Score Increases
Half-elves mature at the same rate humans do and reach adulthood around the age of 20. They live much longer than humans, however, often exceeding 180 years.
Half-elves share the gentle chaotic bent of their Elven ancestry. But they also receive the ideological freedom from their Human side that does not tend any particular way
Half-elves range from 5" to over 6". Their size is Medium.
Base walking speed is 30 feet
Half-elves can speak, read, and write Common, Elvish, and one language of choice
Thanks to their Elf blood, Half-elves have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. They can see in dim light within 60 feet as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. But they cannot discern colour in darkness, only shades of grey.
