Dragons in Dungeons
"The beauty of Splendid cannot be understood without seeing it with your own eyes. The slender spires of pure white marble reaching into the heavens, the golden arches of [[Raeth Innel]] and the ivory beaches of the coast. I will return one day, in this century or the next." – Samira Findiir, rightful Princess of Splendid
Elves are an ancient race who are often mischaracterized as pretentious or aloof because of their otherworldly elegance and cultural refinement. With their unearthly grace and fine features, elves appear hauntingly beautiful to humans and members of many other races.
Their homeland of Splendid is inaccessible to most travellers except merchants and diplomats, adding to their infamous reputation. Although they tend to remain neutral to conflicts on the mainland of Terra, many great leaders and warriors have aided Ostegard in the Great Wars, giving them a legendary status amongst veterans and children.
The Elven kingdom has recently been usurped in a coup d'etat by their Senate and with the shift has come an influx of political expatriates into the Terra mainland, waiting for the tides to turn on the new leader.
Despite the political climate, Elves remain more entertained than concerned, their long lifetimes gift them an opportunity for patience that eludes many other races and Elves tend to look at the big-picture rather than dwell current happenstance.
Ability Score Increase
Elves reach physical maturity around 20, but consider adulthood to be less about time and more about experience and knowledge. They gain an adult name at 100 and can live to be 750 years old.
Elves love freedom, variety, and self-expression, so they lean strongly toward the gentler aspects of chaos. They fall to all sides of the spectrum of good and evil
Elves range from under 5" to just over 6" with slender builds. Their size is Medium.
Base walking speed is 30 feet.
Elves can speak, read, and write Elvish and Common. Elvish is a complex and intricate language that is rich with imagery and metaphorical language. Many bards learn it to add Elvish ballads to their repertoire
Elves primarily pray to Corellon, the God of the Fey and magic. He is neutral by nature and exhorts the values of life, freedom, and art.
Accustomed to twilight forests and the night sky, Elves have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. They can see in dim light within 60 feet as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. But they cannot discern colour in darkness, only shades of grey.
Elves don’t need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. After resting in this way, they gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.
